September brings External Interfaces for building custom apps with Sign in with Port, the Pages API reaching General Availability, native GitHub custom properties sync, the Skills Registry solution to govern AI skills, and a broad set of new Workflow actions across GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, and Jira. Here's everything that's new in Port this month.

Build custom apps with Sign in with Port (External Interfaces)
External Interfaces let you build custom apps hosted anywhere that users sign in with Port and act with their own permissions.
Build custom apps that read your Port context lake and trigger workflows, with users signing in through Sign in with Port. Connect Port MCP to your AI app builder (Lovable, v0, bolt.new) and ask it to create a web app with Port sign-in. Every user keeps their existing Port role and permissions, so you don't reimplement RBAC.

Manage Pages and Widgets via the GA Pages API
The Pages API is now Generally Available, giving platform builders a stable, enterprise-ready way to manage pages and widgets programmatically. Create, update, and manage pages, widgets, and folders via API or Terraform, with clearer validation errors and new AI-powered tools for Dashboard, Catalog, and Entity pages.
Sync Port properties to GitHub custom properties
Port business context now lives right on your GitHub repos as external custom properties.
Govern your repos by the business context you already manage in Port. Sync any Port property (like criticality, ownership, or agent-readiness) to GitHub and use it to search repos and target Rulesets, so the guardrails for developers and agents always reflect your latest data. Port stays the source of truth, and the one-way sync keeps GitHub current with no manual updates or configuration drift.
Port is the first partner on GitHub's new external custom properties.

Expand Workflow Actions Across GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Linear, and Jira
Port Workflows adds a broad new set of actions for GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Linear, and Jira.
Automate more of your development lifecycle straight from Port Workflows, without wiring up custom webhook integrations. Fire actions like Create Issue, Merge Pull Request, Trigger Pipeline, or Create Merge Request across GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Linear, and Jira. For example, auto-create a GitHub issue with fix steps when Snyk flags a vulnerability.

Scope building permissions across teams and users
Delegate admin-level building permissions directly to the teams and users who own specific blueprints, scorecards, and workflows. Assign scoped building permissions so teams can manage their own resources, ending the bottleneck of routing every governance change through a super admin.
Access impacted entities in scorecard rule triggers
Event triggers on scorecard rule results now expose the evaluated entity directly as impactedEntity.
React faster to scorecard changes by getting the evaluated entity directly in your workflow trigger. Reference impactedEntity in a trigger's JQ condition, for example, to fire only when a rule starts failing for a production service, or use it in later nodes to notify the owning team.

Configure Workflow Builder nodes with Form view
Configure any Workflow Builder node through guided form fields instead of hand-writing JSON.
Configure workflow nodes without writing JSON by hand. Open any node in the Workflow Builder to fill in labeled fields, pick icons, select blueprints, and build conditions in a guided Form view. Toggle to the raw JSON editor anytime you need it.

Connect Any Anthropic-Compatible Gateway to Port AI
Connect Port AI to Claude or any other Anthropic-format models through your own gateway or proxy instead of a first-party Anthropic endpoint.
Keep all your Anthropic-format LLM traffic flowing through your corporate gateway or proxy instead of connecting straight to a provider. Register your endpoint with a base URL, a Port secret for auth, and a catalog of the models it exposes, then set it as your org default or call it per request.

Connect MCP servers with client credentials OAuth
Remote MCP connectors now support machine-to-machine (M2M) OAuth via the client credentials grant, alongside the existing per-user authorization code flow.
Connect machine-to-machine MCP servers as the organization identity, without sending users through a browser consent screen. The resulting connection is shared org-wide across chat and automations instead of being tied to the user who consented.
Port MCP now works with strict AI gateways and GitHub Copilot CLI
Port MCP now meets the MCP spec requirements that strict enterprise AI gateways and spec-strict clients like GitHub Copilot CLI depend on, so they can connect.
Point your gateway (Open WebUI, kagent, and similar) or client at your regional Port MCP URL and sign in through the same login flow. No extra setup is needed in Port.
Incremental Sync for GitHub and Azure DevOps
GitHub and Azure DevOps Ocean integrations can now sync only what changed since the last run instead of rescanning everything from scratch.
Keep your GitHub and Azure DevOps data fresh in Port without hammering your APIs or flooding your audit logs. This lets you safely extend your full resync interval for large environments.
Merge multi-source data into properties, relations, and ownership
Array properties, relations, and owning teams can now merge values from multiple integrations, API callers, or manual edits instead of overwriting each other.
Stop losing data when more than one source writes to the same array property, relation, or owning team. Enable multi-source ingestion by switching the "Multi source" toggle on when creating a new array property, relation, or owning team, or by setting
"union": true
via the API. Each writer updates its own source key, and Port merges every source's values into a single, deduplicated list.
For example, vulnerabilities reported by Snyk and Dependabot can live alongside manual edits in the same property.

Protect individual resources from resync deletes
Stop resync cleanup from deleting entities when a resource returns an empty response that doesn't actually mean the entities were removed.
Set
enableDelete: false
on the mapping resource you want to protect, and deletes are skipped for its blueprint during resync while upserts keep running. Cleanup stays on for every other resource in the integration.
Debug live events from the integration Event log
Live events now appear in a dedicated Live events tab in the integration Event log, so you can see success or failure without checking pod logs.
See exactly what happened to a live event without waiting for the next full sync or digging through pod logs. Open an integration's Event log and switch to the Live events tab to see ingested counts, mapping errors, and failed or queued upserts, filterable by level, resource kind, or message.

Create and manage integrations with Terraform
Integrations can now be created and managed directly with Terraform, not only imported after setup in the UI.
Provision self-hosted and Port-hosted (SaaS) integrations entirely from Terraform, without a manual install-then-import step.
Get real-time AWS updates with CloudTrail live events
The AWS v3 integration now syncs catalog changes within seconds using CloudTrail-based live events.
Your AWS catalog now reflects create, update, and delete changes within seconds, instead of waiting for the next full resync. Available for both Hosted by Port and self-hosted Ocean deployments.
Support GPT-5.6 Luna and Terra models
Port AI now supports OpenAI's
gpt-5.6-luna
and
gpt-5.6-terra
models across OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and Port managed providers.
Run Port AI on the newest GPT-5.6 models, with a context window of over 1M tokens for your longest chats, agents, and workflow sessions.

See pages shared with you in the sidebar
Private pages shared with you now appear in a dedicated
β€œShared with me”
section in the sidebar, making it easier to find and
collaborate on private pages
others have shared with you.
When someone shares a private page with you through page permissions, it automatically appears under
β€œShared with me.”
You can also see the page owner directly from the Share page, so you always know who shared it with you.

Add Personal Widgets to Any Dashboard or Entity Page
Personal widgets can now be added to dashboards and entity pages, not just your Homepage.
Personalize any dashboard or entity page by clicking
Add widget
and selecting the new
Personal
section. From there, you can add widgets such as
My entities
and
Recently used actions
.

Navigate the new layout with breadcrumbs and Back/Forward
The new layout header now shows a breadcrumb trail and Back and Forward controls so you can orient yourself and move through your session.
Always know where you are in Port and move through your session without relying on the browser's navigation buttons. Follow the breadcrumb trail in the new layout header, click any intermediate crumb to jump back, and use Back and Forward to retrace your steps.
image
A clearer, faster way to approve tool calls in Port AI
Reviewing tools that require your approval in Port AI is now more intuitive. Check each call, edit arguments if needed, then Approve, Decline, or Approve all. Auto approve skips repeat prompts for the current conversation or all sessions.
image
Add icons to catalog sidebar folders
Catalog folders can now have their own icon, just like pages, making them easier to spot in the sidebar.
Folders in the software catalog sidebar can now carry their own icon, the same way pages do. Pick an icon when creating a folder, or edit an existing one via β‹― β†’ Edit folder, including your organization's custom icons.
