Ability to filter Related Entities table view by degree of relationship

Right now the Related Entities table shows all the related entities, not just directly related entities. It would be helpful to see how each entity in that table is related (whether it is direct, and if not how many degrees it is out). It would also be nice to have the option to default that table to just direct relations as well as offer the ability to filter by degrees of relation.

Ervin Varga Mark DeBeer We are currently in design phase for the capability of defining a specific path(s) when retrieving related entities.
Once we have it, would you agree this specific request to limit number of hops is less of importance? you will be able to define the direct relation as the expected path.

Gur Shafriri Good to hear about this new capability of having more control in navigating entities. It is indeed aligned with the objective stated in this feature idea, although I would not say, based on these preliminaries, that it will this feature request redundant. For non-direct relationships it would still make sense to limit the distance traversed, especially in situations with parent-child relations between entities of the same type.

Limit the number of hops in traversing related entities
Ervin Varga
It would be great to be able to specify how many hops should be taken into account when presenting downstream/upstream dependencies. This is especially important for self-referencing entities. For example, if a Service blueprint has a relationship Requires toward another Service of 1:many type, then all in the catalog all related entities are listed in transitive fashion. For complex models this essentially renders the view unusable.
The proposal is to limit the distance in the graph that will be traversed from the current node in collecting downstream/upstream dependencies.

This is a duplicate of https://roadmap.getport.io/ideas/p/limit-the-number-of-hops-in-traversing-related-entities. I intend to recommend Port to enhance their registry and add a flag "duplicate", so that votes would be summed up. For example, this idea could already gain 7 instead of 4 + 3 votes. What do you think?

Hi Hila Kashai! Thanks a lot!
